Pagājuši trīs gadi kopš Džo pirmās draudzenes Alises nāves, un trīs gadi kopš tēva pazušanas. Arī māte drīzāk nav viņa dzīvē nekā ir, un abu attiecības, maigi sakot, ir sliktas. Līdz ar to Džo un viņa māsai Lorenai ir nācies iemācīties izdzīvot un sadzīvot bez vecāku gādības un uzraudzības. Neapskaužama ģimenīte.
